DEAR CHURCH,

Thank you for being here. The very fact that you have visited a website to help care for abandoned and divorced women shows that you desire to love and serve these broken women in your midst. THANK YOU for your willingness to listen and learn and your desire to serve and shepherd. May the Lord bless you in the days ahead. Our prayer is that your church will be a safe and supportive place for women who find themselves walking a devastating road. The number of betrayed, abused and abandoned women in our congregations only continues to grow. We hope that Restored Home becomes a valuable resource for you.

We hope to help equip you in your spiritual and practical care for her. Our team has plans to create more resources to help you care for broken women well, so stay tuned! If we can answer any questions, please get in touch HERE. If you have women in your church who would benefit from the support of Restored Home, please send them our way. You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram.

May God bless you as you seek to love, shepherd and care for the broken in your midst.

Hear their stories…

“Please take time to really listen to our stories, no matter how uncomfortable they make you feel. Please check on us from time to time to see how we’re doing and if we need anything. Take time to pray for us and to let us know we’re prayed for. It’s the little things that mean so much.”

— Lydia

“I had so many practical needs —yard work, definitely. And to still be invited to things. Our Sunday school, my peers, and even small group would hold events, but I wouldn’t be invited because ‘it’s just couples’. I was the only divorced person in a church of 300. Also, finances for basics like groceries and prescriptions. I lost 40 pounds the first year because I didn’t have enough money for groceries for me AND the kids. So I went days sometimes without eating so all the food could be reserved for my kids.”

— Mary

“I was no longer included in couples’ nights/activities. There were no alternatives for single parents so I found myself not belonging to any group.”

—Ruth

“The day after I found out [my husband was having an affair], a friend just came and brought me some banana bread and just sat with me in the midst of my grief. Then two other friends showed up and it really lifted my spirits.”

— Lydia

“I’ve since changed churches and my current church has been wonderful. I know they would support me in any way. When I switched churches and started dating, they provided a couple that had a similar story for us to talk to. The ups and downs of divorce, remarriage and blended families.”

—Mary

“I’ve learned that God is faithful. He is present. He is close to the broken-hearted. He is a good Father who loves my kids more than I do.”
